Water and Silence

Following an age-old tradition for contemporary pilgrims
August 28-30, 2015
5:00 pm Friday - 3:00 pm Sunday
Still Point Mountain Retreat near Harpers Ferry WV

Gather at Still Point Mountain Retreat for Friday Vespers, followed by 7:00 pm dinner and Compline. Arrive Friday after 1:00 pm. Retreat ends following lunch on Sunday. Gathered participants will follow contemporary Prayer of the Hours, interspersed with generous time for silence and exploring the river, pond, streams, and waterfalls of Rolling Ridge’s 1400 acres of untouched natural beauty. Retreat includes six delicious home-style meals, a contemplative library and art materials.

Adjoining the Rolling Ridge Foundation Wilderness Preserve, the five bedroom Still Point Cabin sits atop a mountain rise overlooking the Shenandoah River. The retreat is led by Lindsay McLaughlin and Mary Ann Welter.

$200 shared occupancy and $225 for a single room.

Still Point is accessible by car only. We are located one hour and 40 minutes from Washington, DC, in the tip of West Virginia’s Eastern Panhandle. The last mile or so of road into Rolling Ridge and Still Point is gravel and mountainous.

Quote of the Day

Even if your current job does not reflect your dreams and ultimate direction, you can find ways of expressing more of your special qualities while you are looking for your next step forward. If you are committed to expressing your spiritual purpose through your day-to-day activities, then your work will automatically become more satisfying. Think about your current position in life and ask yourself:

How can I best serve others and my own higher purpose through my work? How can my current work become more fulfilling? How can I bring more healing into the world?

~ David Lawson
